Sex is an essential part of most committed relationships. It can strengthen and improve your bond, it helps you get through difficult situations, and it reminds you why you got together in the first place. It’s good for your relationship, and it’s good for you. If you’ve been together a while though, your sex life can take a back seat as you focus on other priorities, and the sex can become infrequent, boring, or non-existent. Here are a few suggestions for setting the mood and reigniting the passion. Seduction is all in the details, so pay attention!
Part One: Use the Five Senses to your advantage
Look the part. Even though you know he loves you in your sweats, makeup-free, and with morning breath, try to tap into your inner seductress and dress up a bit. Men are very visual creatures, so this is important in getting him amped. Wear something that you know looks good on you, style your hair, rouge your cheeks—whatever it takes to get you feeling confident and beautiful.
Scent is strongly connected to memory and emotions. If you have a special perfume that you know he goes gaga for, a light spritz will do the trick. Otherwise, just-showered fresh and clean works for most people.
Fresh breath is essential for kissing. Brush your teeth and tongue and rinse with a minty mouthwash. There are also edible body paints and underwear, if you so desire.
Turn off the TV, radio, and other sounds you can avoid, and put on some get-in-the-mood music. Try classical, R&B, or jazz—it’ll slow down the action and promote sensuality.
Human contact can do wonders for the mind and body. A simple touch can create feelings of closeness and intimacy. Try dancing, holding hands, playing with each other’s hair, or giving each other massages. Sloooowly.
