It’s February already and we all know what that means - Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. It can be a great holiday for the lucky gals in relationships, but for the rest of us, it seems like just another excuse to have singledom waved in our faces. But don’t fret, there are plenty of great things to do this V-Day; and all without a partner.

- Luckily, since Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year you won’t have to watch your taken coworker receive and pawn over a huge bouquet of flowers at work. Instead, gather up your (single) girlfriends and head to the movies. Make sure you to see something unromantic – and don’t forget the popcorn!
- Treat yourself to a spa day. Get a mani-pedi a massage, a facial, whatever it takes to get you to look and feel your best!
- Host an Anti-Valentine’s day party! Invite your single friends and encourage them to bring some of their single friends and who knows,…maybe you will meet next year’s Valentine!
- If you really want to feel appreciated and loved on Valentine’s Day, consider volunteering your time at the local animal shelter. Take the animals out for a walk or play with them indoors – maybe even adopt one and get ready to feel the love all year round!
- Treat yourself to a jaw-dropping outfit and test it out at the club or the new bar that all your friends are raving about. Vow to be brazen and approach at least 3 guys that you probably wouldn’t normally have the guts to talk to. Who knows where you will meet the next great love of your life? Make sure you don’t rule anybody out by taking a chance!
- Indulge in the giant box of Valentine’s Day chocolates. Who cares that you bought them for yourself? At least now, you won’t have to share with anyone!
- Give a V-Day gift to Mother Nature by planting a tree, starting a carpool group at work, initiating a neighborhood recycling program or come up with another way to go green this Valentine’s day.

I am not a rich women, but whenever i can i buy True Romance. It used to be a way to escape the abuse I endured, which I am happy to say is no longer a part of my life. Now I read it as pure enjoyment during my coffee and lunch breaks. I was enjoying Fevruary 2010’s magazine and enjoying the story called “Hush Puppy”, however i was totally thrown off when it told me the story continued on page 61 from page 44. I was totally confused and now I will never know how the story ends because it was not the ending to the story, it was a totally different story. I am angry that i spent the money on the magazine, only to not be able to finish one of the stories. I hope somehow i get the ending to this story because I know I won’t be able to afford this magazine again for a while.
Thanks for letting me blow off anger steam.
Hi Ingrid,
We sincerely apologize for the misprint. Here is the entire story with the proper ending: http://mytruelovestory.com/2010/01/18/hush-puppy/
You can also find the final column of “Hush Puppy” in the March 2010 issue of True Romance. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
