Men say things like, “Why should I go vote if my wife is going to cancel it with her vote?” and “I need to find us a church to take the kids to.” And to disagree as a wife, in their minds, means you don’t give them credit for knowing anything or for being a good “leader.” They ignore the fact that THEIR failure to include your input as equally important is the same thing, and is a failure to acknowledge your worth. NEITHER of you is obligated to go to the other’s church or to vote similarly, if you feel like doing otherwise, even though open discussion is good as long as neither thinks the other is obligated to agree. Different views should be accepted as totally normal, without regard to whether or not the two are married. So, don’t become entangled with a man who does not believe in equality, and you will be helping to cut down on the extent to which this kind of thing happens. Americans and their want for everything to be perfect. Europeans have a very different way of living. And they [europeans] don't take enough care of their teeth. They smoke a bit too much. drink more than us in the US and they also have more vacation time and a better quality of life in general. I grew up in South American and did a decade in Europe. I want to do a decade in Asia or Northern Africa. Who knows.... I can take my gig on the road and write about my goings on. That poor guy that had to deal with the precocious American. I hope that you both have some happy memories of each other! Anyways... Today the cute-ish UPS guy delivered my Monte Blanc pen refills. He had a bunch of paper towel stuck to the 5 o'clock shadow he was sporting. I signed for the ink and told him. He thanked me and blushed. Was it better to let him walk around all day with paper on his face. Not for me. I tell others when their zipper is down or if toilet paper is stuck to their shoe. Some of us do. If all of us did, the one's of us that pride themselves in being that person would have to find some other type of fulfilling social thing, like planting a eco-friendly garden or something. My husband's GQ magazine finally has a hot chickadee on the cover again. Las month was Jake Gyllinhall and the month prior to that was some sports hero guy. That is a mag dedicated to men's lifestyle and what's hot and what's not. They posted pix of smoldering hot bare-chested men all the time; either posing in the newest underwear of just hanging on the latest yacht. So, I don't see what is of-putting about a picture of an internationally acclaimed SEXPERT, dating coach and relationship counselor. For all anyone knew it was a pic of Fiona. Just needed to vent.
